Hi, I’m Britt.

I’m currently the Creative Director for Pendleton Woolen Mills, where I manage photography, alongside campaign and website UI design, copy, and retouching. Analytics are a daily part of my job, and I like talking about confidence intervals as much as location shoots and Oxford commas (and Hostess Cupcakes and ‘90s runway shows).

I spent my early career in Gawker-era NYC as an award-winning writer and lifestyle reporter for the New York Daily News, the Village Voice, Jane Magazine (RIP), and one time British Vogue. I covered fashion shows, restaurant openings, and worked the crime beat on Saturdays because I’d read and loved The Black Dahlia. It was those weekends I worked with Pulitzer-winning photojournalists and got an education on making beautiful photos under tough circumstances, whether shooting Beyoncé or a New York City crime scene. Many nights were spent at Pravda and Double Happiness over an Amstel Light. IYKYK.

I attended graduate school at NYU and liberal arts college in Iowa where I double majored in English and Biology. Sometimes I still wish I’d been a dermatologist before remembering I couldn’t pass Organic Chemistry. There was a brief stint in Paris at La Sorbonne, too. Blame Before Sunrise for that.

Today, I have expertise in staging any photoshoot you can dream up, UI/UX, email and social design, and integrated print/digital campaigns. I live in Portland with a black cat, two kids and a closet full of vintage clothing.

Let’s talk about your project, or the D+ you got in O Chem, too.
